Road signs

The council are responsible for non illuminated on-highway traffic signing (not parking), temporary event on-highway signing, carriageway markings, traffic guidance and adherence to legal requirements. Information on applying for signage and details of existing road signs can be found on this page.

Who can use this service:

The following criteria must be met: 1. Statutory Instrument 2002 No. 3113 2. Highways Acts 3. SCC Policy on tourist and direction signing.

Charges:

There may be charges for some temporary event and direction signs. The customer will be invoiced for any charges.

Ways To Pay:

The customer will be able to pay an invoice online, by cheques or postal order or in person at the Civic Centre cash office in Gateway. Cash office opening hours are: Monday Tuesday and Thursday 8.30am-4.30pm, Wednesday and Friday 8.30am-4pm and Thursday 8.30-7pm
