The environmental information regulations are intended to give the general public access to information relating to the environment. Environmental information is not strictly defined but guidance has been issued to help identify what this covers. Matters pertaining to environmental information can range from air quality and contaminated land; to Health and Safety issues and Environmental policies. Under these regulations Southampton City Council is obliged to provide information within 20 working days of the request.Publication scheme
Every public authority will be required to adopt and maintain a publication scheme setting out the classes of information it holds, the manner in which it intends to publish the information, and whether a charge will be made for the information.
