Southampton cooks

Southampton cooks cover img smaller

Southampton cooks began life as the 'cookery exchange programme,' a project that brought together cooks from many different communities in the city.

The project was very successful, so the communities team decided to gather all the recipes together in one book. 'Southampton cooks' celebrates the diversity of appetite in the city. From apple crumble to Somali crab meat stew the book features contributions from all of the city's different communities.

The book is available to buy from libraries across the city, Southampton Tourist Information Centre, October Books in Portswood, The Fair Trade Shop in Shirley, Kutis Brasserie and The Tiffin Club in Oxford Street, priced at £4.95. If you would like more information on the cookery exchange program, please contact the Stronger communities and equalities team on 023 8083 3445 or email communities.equalities@southampton.gov.uk.

Why not try out one of the fantastic recipes from the book before you buy? We have produced Nan Cooper's Christmas Pudding as a printable factsheet for you to print off and try. Click on the factsheet link on the right of this page.
