There are 16 community centres and one resource centre in Southampton. They are owned and supported by the Council but run by Community Associations made up of local residents.
The community centres are a base for many local groups such as Brownies, bingo, karate and computer clubs. If you are looking to run or start a group, some centres have regular slots available.
All the centres are ideal venues for social events from children's parties and wedding receptions to coffee mornings and community events - prices start from £7 per hour.

Community Associations
Community Associations are made up of local volunteers who are responsible for the day to day running of their community centre. They work to provide a community space for social, educational and recreational activities for residents in their community.
Associations are always looking for new people to join their committee. All types of skills are needed; secretaries, treasurers and lettings officers etc. If you don’t want a specific role don’t worry. All centres want community minded, enthusiastic people to help whatever their level of involvement. Most volunteers find it only takes a couple of hours a month. Could you spare a couple of hours to help your community centre thrive even more?

Great things are not done by impulse but by a series of small things brought together - Vincent van Gogh

See the Communities Directory for more venues available for hire.
