Details of service:
A commitment ceremony provides an opportunity for couples, of any sex, to make a public declaration of their commitment to each other. Each couple can create a unique celebration, working within the ceremony framework, to suit their own particular requirements. It can be a private event for the couple only or it can be a celebration to share with family and friends.
In Southampton ceremonies can be held in The Golden Jubilee Room, 6a Bugle Street or in any of the approved premises that are licensed for civil marriages. It may also be possible to hold a ceremony in another venue, including a private residence or garden. This would be subject to an inspection of the premises for health and safety purposes (please speak to the superintendent registrar for advice).
For further information or to book your ceremony please contact the superintendent registrar. If the ceremony is to be at one of the approved premises you will also need to contact the venue.
Please note: a commitment ceremony has no legal status, it is purely ceremonial.
