How much do certificates cost?

Current fees for certificates issued by the local Register Office are:

• £7.00 full certificate

• £5.50 short birth certificates (short birth certificates do not show any parents' details)

If the Birth, Death or Marriage is recent (within the last 3-4 months) and the register is still in use the cost will be £3.50 each for full or short certificates. To confirm this please check with the office.

Please note:

If you require a replacement birth certificate for a passport application the Passport Office will only accept a full certificate showing parents' details.
