I have married my child's natural father, do I have to re-register their birth?

It is not unusual for a couple to have children before they are married. However, if the natural parents do subsequently marry each other a re-registration of their child's birth should be made.

I'm not married to my child's natural father but want to add his details on the birth certificate, can I re-register the birth?

If the natural father's details were not included in the original birth registration it is possible to re-register your child's birth to have these details included. He will then acquire equal parental rights and responsibilities for the child.
