What is it?
a strong hallucinogenic drug manufactured from lysergic acid diethylamide – a chemical found in a fungus that grows on rye and other grains. Mainly sold in tablet or capsule form, occasionally as a liquid

A Class A drug; maximum penalty for possession is seven years in prison, for dealing, life in prison and an unlimited fine – or both
Effects
• Intensified emotions
• Seeing or hearing things that aren’t really there (hallucinations)
• Increased heart rate and blood pressure
• Affected movements and reactions
• Muddled speech
• Loss of muscle control
Risks
• A trip can be ‘good’ or ‘bad’ – you never know which until its started
• Can cause terrifying flashbacks even years later
• Can make existing mental health problems worse
• Enormous strain on the heart and lungs
• Coma
A LSD trip can last up to 8 – 12 hours – once it starts you cannot stop it.
Taking LSD can mask the warning signs of ecstasy
