Southampton City Council saw the need for all agencies within the city to work together in small areas to tackle the blight of anti social behaviour. Out of this need came Crime Reduction and Environment Weeks (CREW’s).

When they were established 3 years ago they were the first in the country but have now been copied by many other local authorities. Since their creation, many resources from across the council have been committed to making these events successful, leading to them going from strength to strength.

CREW is an excellent example of multi agency team work and has proved very successful in each and every area we have set it up.
