Licensing Act 2003 Public Registers

The City Council, as Licensing Authority, is required to publish public registers relating to applications for and licences and certificates issued under the Licensing Act 2003. Section 8 and schedule 3 of the Licensing Act 2003, together with the Licensing Act 2003 (Licensing Authority's Register)(Other Information) Regulations 2005 set out the detailed requirements.

The registers are cumulative and are available via the links to the right. They are updated on a regular basis. Information on current applications and licences and certificate granted is also available from the Public Access link.

Register
There are five parts to the register:

1. Premises licences and club premises certificates - applications received
2. Premises licences and club premises certificates - applications granted
3. Personal licences - applications and licences granted
4. Temporary event notices - separate lists for 2008, 2007 and 2005-2006 events
5. Review notices

Information on reviews will only appear for current reviews, which are as follows:

If what you require does not appear in the published registers, please contact the Licensing Team to ascertain whether the information you require is available.

Representations
Only the Police could make representations to applications for conversion. Representations to other applications for or reviews of premises licences or club premises certificates may be made by any of the responsible authorities - Police, Fire, Environmental Health, Planning, Trading Standards, Child Protection, the Health and Safety Executive or the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (for vessels) - or one of the "interested parties":

• A person living in the vicinity of the premises
• A body representing persons who live in that vicinity
• A person involved in a business in that vicinity
• A body representing persons involved in such businesses

Only the Police may comment on personal licence applications or temporary event notices.

Reviews
It is possible for any of the responsible authorities or interested parties to give notice for a review of a premises licence of club premises certificate on the grounds that are relevant to one or more of the statutory licensing objectives. Opening hours:

Members of the licensing team will normally be available at Southbrook Rise to assist personal callers on weekdays between 09:00 and 12:00 and between 14:00 and 16:00. We may be available at other times by prior appointment.
