Books and reading

Books for Reading Groups

If you have a reading group you can join the library as a group and borrow multiple copies of books free of charge. Each set of books contains between 6-10 titles and there is a wide range to choose from.

Who can use this service:

Reading groups.

Charges:

There is no charge for using the service and groups can reserve books free of charge. A lost book will incur a replacement charge.

Ways To Apply:

Your group will need a special reading group library card to borrow the sets of books. The main group contact can apply for a card at their local library. Proof of name and address is required e.g. driving licence, telephone, water and electricity or council tax bill.

Ways To Book:

Once you have a library card, staff at your local library will be pleased to sort out any requests for books. This can be done via telephone, email or in person. They need to know the name of the book, how many copies you require and when and where the books should be picked up. Books can be picked up from and returned to any library. Follow the ‘local libraries' link for a list of libraries. It is handy to have a second/third choice title if your first choice is on loan to another group. Books can be borrowed for 6 weeks and reserved free of charge with no overdue charges. The group contact will be responsible for requesting books and making sure books are returned.
