| Southampton Municipal Golf Course offers a challenging 18 hole fully mature woodland course. For the experienced golfer the 18 hole requires distance and accuracy from the tee, good iron play and accomplished putting. The course is a fascinating mix of holes with an abundance of natural hazards, unseen greens and challenging water features.
The front nine is the shorter of the two and holds several birdie opportunities particularly on the 3rd, 4th and 9th. However, beware of the 469-yard 2nd, par 4, that can easily wreck your card. The back nine hold a real sting in the tail with 4 long par 4's and the scenic 165-yard 17th plays over a valley. The undulating and tree lined fairways make it a stern test of golf and if you play to your handicap you've played well. |
